I'm posting my kink bingo card, mostly as a reminder/encouragement to myself to work on fic for it. But if anyone sees something they'd really like to see me write, for a particular pairing or whatever, then give me a shout. We'll see if I click with it.

Hopefully, I aim to break myself of the ridiculous embarrassment that strikes when I write/post smut (I know kink bingo things don't *have* to feature explicit sex, but as I'd really like to stop blushing when I write, I'm taking that approach!)

orgasm denial. i admit, i've got a vague concept for that, but only second-hand, and the story will probably end up being the virginity/celibacy square. the line-blurring of most of the kinks is pretty handy.

oh man, crossdressing. i should out and out say that crossdressing and genderplay are things i really like to go back to when thinking about characters. but (talking dresden since that's the fandom i spend most of my mental time in, and that i know we have in common), i've got seven main degrees-of-crossdressing characters i tend to focus on, and no idea which i'd pick if i got the square: harry (likes pretty clothes and feeling pretty and would love to pass if he acknowledged his rather firmly repressed feminine tendencies BUT NO HOHO HE IS A MALE MASCULINE MAN AND BEING EFFEMINATE IS THE FUNNIEST EVER HO; and/or would totally have a drag persona if he could get himself there), marcone (draaaag), hendricks (will let his dick lead him most places if it's not dangerous), murphy (is too short to pass and knows it, but likes a little gender ambiguity and being The Man in bed, and frankly, has the biggest dick in the series anyway), justine (mostly likes to wear a strap-on, will play up a little tipping-the-velvet ensemble), sanya (just likes wearing women's underwear), luccio (did most of hers in the victorian era, still plays it out now and then). ...yes.

totally likely. and if he just kept doing it, well, it would be because it was fun and it worked out and was ~convenient~ and not because he liked to or anything, you know. being the completely heterosexual cis male that he is, and all.

well, you do have a pegging/strap-on square. ;) there are landmines all over luccio and harry, and i think the biggest issue would be harry forgiving himself, but if he wasn't playing Mister Man in bed with her and she was calling the shots, it was clearly her choice, for her pleasure, etc., he might be more willing to roll with casual sex with her again, maybe even convince himself he was doing it out of a sense of justice and not because it's one of the most amazing things he's ever done? because it's harry.

hell, you could probably get a whole single-line extra out of that, horizontal through the middle: obedience (yes, captain); pegging (unf, being introduced to your prostate harry and some sexy power dynamics?); wiiildcard (bondage? crossdressing? authority figures? costumes? historical roleplay? etc etc); penance/punishment (he didn't KNOW, but compulsion and enthrallment isn't consent and what does that make him? he has to paaay for it.); foot/shoe fetish (buttony victorian men's boots?)... so, um. obviously i think your card is awesome.

*Gapes* You are clearly a dab hand at this, I had yet to notice that you could go for a line extra with one fic (note to self, pay attention when you re-read the rules!)

Oh God, the consent issues. I really could have used more than a nod in the direction of this being problematic in the text, but I suppose that's one of things fic is for, exploring the worrisome bits glossed over by author/narrator. And that is an awesome (and incidently, deeply hot, way of doing it).

hee. i think half the fun of bingo is looking at other people's cards and getting ideas for things with no obligation to write them.

the consent issues. yeah. i kind of psyched myself up, pre-card signup for what i'd do if i got 'consent play', and decided i'd probably end up doing an essay trying to tackle some of the many consent issues in Dresden. but then i didn't get it and it was moot. but. i do sort of hope (not quite suspect, but wouldn't be surprised if they did) those issues, at least in relation to luccio, to come up eventually down the line. harry does seem to take things that are emotional blows and bury them deep, and then suprise!process them a little more a few books down the road. he does his deep thinking where even he is hardly aware of it, or something.

that said, i definitely think those issues could use some exploration in fandom and fic, and toppy, owning herself luccio is certainly not a method i would be sorry to see for it. ;)

That essay would be interesting reading, if you're ever struck by the urge to write it.

Its interesting, the way Harry processes things, because it's not just emotional stuff, it can be random plot points (uh, that I won't give an example for because I haven't put any spoiler warnings on this post), I think it's Susan that says he works everything out eventually, it just takes him a while.

It's useful for Butcher, because it provides an in-text justification for revisiting and elaborating on things that he might not have fully utilised the first time round. Like the cuffs supposedly made by Nicodemus that Harry later decides are of faerie make, which fits the demands of a later plot better. I'm always so trusting with unreliable narrators though, when they backtrack later in the story I'm like "Wait, what, no...you *said*!"

It gives a fic writer a lot to play with too :-D
