Old english, that sounds interesting! Lots of Beowulf then and, hm, the song of Roland? (Or was that in french? I used to know more about these things...) When I write historical fiction and is stuck wondering about names I usually just takes one or another from the bible, that feels rather failsafe, as long as it isn't REALLY old historical fiction. :)
14! My first steps out into the internets were also early I think, probably around 11-12, but I didn't even discover the world of fandom until I was 18. (Yes, I know, what did I use internet for before that?!) I was, am, really the only one with a fully developed fangirl persona in my circle of friends, so I really had to figure it all out by myself! Yeah, I hope they aren't too young these days, there are a lot of heavy stuff out there after all.
Yeah well, it's an honest mistake, he looks rather lovely in black leather :) And yeah, Guy is a bully, sure, the classic schoolyard type gone medieval - but not a sadist, nor a psychopath. He is very violent, but I don't think it's inflicting pain in itself that gives him any pleasure (like it would a sadist). It's just that he sees violence as the only way he can achieve power, and feeling powerful, in control is what gives him pleasure. That's what I think :)
There was a discussion about the show's innuendo over at one of the IMDb boards, I think it was one person writing about how she found it terrible to watch the show with her little brother, because of the sheriff's lewdness, even though he didn't seem to think about it, to which another person answered: "That's the point of innuendo, though, isn't it. If you get the joke, you're already well and truly corrupted." That's just so very true...
My only excuse is bad education :) Coctails are ways funnier!
