Well, from Old Norse sagas you get some brilliant names. Or nicknames anyway. Ketil Flatnose. Or Erik the Surly. I just fail at convincingly Anglo-Saxon peasant names...which considering the amount of Old English I've done is unforgivable.

That's an interesting question as to how old the demographic of this LJ fandom is. I think I was 10 or 11 the first time I hit the internet, and probably 14 before I started adversary slash online. (I'm going to be so paranoid when I have kids) and I'm nearly 21 now so I have no idea where that places me generally.

I'm willing to run with the suggestion that because Richard Armitage looks so good standing around in black clothes being moody that it's easy to slap the lable "bad guy" on Guy and run with it. (uhm, no pun intended).

The main stream media explanations I've seen for the innuendo was "in that harmless tradition of dirty pantomime jokes" Which only really works if there are people in drag. Uh...we haven't had drag yet right? I'm sure I would remember that.

And my excuse for crazy spelling today is alcohol. Too many cocktails.
