This is just...wow. Incredible? Glorious? Profound? I really don't know if there's any one word that can properly describe it. You just have such a way with Jane and Red John---and Van Pelt too, by the look of things. You've always been able to nail their personalities. I'm astounded.
Jane's descent into madness and Red Johns growing dementia felt so incredibly real in this situation---exactly as I would've expected them to act out if such a scene occured in the show. Jane's biting criticism of faith really struck a cord, but it fit perfectly into his athiestic point of view in life, and it felt more than just a little wonderful when Van Pelt's confidence and belief held true in the end. Oh, my darling...it's with fics like this that you make my heart swoon.
(And then, of course, Lisbon kicked ass---and who doesn't love that?)
